MAISON LYS & COUSINS
Maison Lys & Cousins has an unconventional origin story, beginning with a group of Canadian friends united by their passion for Burgundy wine. They call themselves “Cousins” and, despite their diverse backgrounds and lack of winemaking experience, they embarked on a journey to create their own Burgundy wines. To guide them, they enlisted Bernard Zito, a respected Burgundy consultant known for his expertise in organic and biodynamic viticulture.
Zito, who has worked with esteemed domaines like Domaine de la Vougeraie and Charles Lachaux, oversees grape selection, vinification, aging, and bottling. The “Cousins” support him during harvest and other key moments. With over 30 years in the field and experience teaching at the CEPPA in Beaune, Zito brings a high level of skill and precision to the project, ensuring the production of dense, elegant wines.
