DOMAINE MUR-MUR-IUM
Domaine Mur-Mur-Ium, one of the most famous and qualitatively outstanding wineries of the Ventoux, in 2008. The winery gained world-wide popularity through high evaluations by Robert Parkers in the early 2000s. DOMAINE MUR-MUR-IUM located in the Cote de Ventoux village of Mormoiron in the southeastern Rhone region.
Murmurium is Latin in origin, meaning “the buzzing song of bees”, which are depicted on their labels. Marc and Anne have expanded the estate by acquiring more old vineyards, increasing the size of the domaine from 13 to 21 hectares. All of the vineyards are cultivated using organic methods, the soil is tilled manually, all harvesting is done by hand, no pesticides or chemicals are used and only native yeasts are used in fermentation. The mission of the estate is, “to maintain a style of rich, ripe and hand-crafted wines through careful vineyard management, low yields and late harvesting”.
