DOMAINE PATRICK JAVILLER
Domaine Patrick Javillier is located in the village of Meursault. The culture of the vine first appeared in Burgundy, in the 1st century AD. However, it wasn't until the 13th century that viticulture appeared in Meursault, a massive thanks to the monks of the Citeaux. Located in the southern half of the Cote de Beaune the vineyard of Meursault covers 600 hectares of vine. Producing in particular white wines of great renown from the grape variety Chardonnay; wines from the village are classified under the appellations of Burgundy, Meursault and Meursault 1er cru.
The amount of new oak used in barrel-fermentation again depends on the provenance of the grapes. The wines of this domaine are typified by their rich flavours of tropical and citrus fruit with creamy and nutty oak and great value for money. Patrick’s wines can be easily drank, but will also age fantastically for 5 – 15 years.
